Addition and Subtraction Strategies  Rubric Term 3 2021   Name:

Criteria

Level 2 (5ii)

Early Level 3

Level 3

Level 4

Addition and Subtraction strategies

Simple strategies to add and subtract smaller numbers.

Knowing a range of strategies e.g. use of an  algorithm, or partitioning.

Applying a range of appropriate strategies for different problems. Number lines, compensation,

Have a range of strategies that can be used for decimal numbers and fractions

My  goals:

Goal

Success Criteria (This is what it will look like when I get there)

I need to be able to break numbers up to make it easier to subtract.

To achieve this goal I can break up single digit numbers to add or subtract. Eg 47 + 8 means 47 (+ 3 + 5) = 47 + 3 = 50 + 5 = 55 or

in 43 - 6 the 6 would be partitioned into a 3 and a 3. 43 - 3 = 40 - 3 = 37.

I need a range of strategies to be able to use to add and subtract when solving different problems

To achieve this goal I can use different strategies. I can use numberlines to count on and count on back, rounding skills to compensate as well as an algorithm. I must be able to partition well so I can bridge through tidy numbers.

I need to be able to select the strategies to use to add and subtract when solving different problems

To achieve this goal I will have a range of different strategies I can use. I can look at numbers in a maths problem and say this strategy will be best here because ………  I need to be able to justify and explain. I begin to check my answers.

I need to be able to extend my use of addition and subtraction strategies to decimal numbers, fractions, and percentages.

To achieve this goal I will be able to solve math problems that involve decimal numbers, fractions. I will use self checks and inverse to help my accuracy

Goal Setting in Addition and Subtraction

My goal in addition and subtraction is to: use my strategies for percentages.

Addition and Subtraction Reflection

Using the two tests, think about your strengths and which gaps you have sorted out. (goals you have achieved). Google form to  be completed at the end of the 3 weeks.

Fraction Reflection

This is an opportunity for you to reflect on your Maths teaching and learning this week. You can then put it up on your blog.

As a Learners:

What did I learn during the two different lessons? I learnt some things that I already know and something that actually did not make sense.

What could have been better? Harder questions

What were the strengths of my / our teaching? understanding what's on teaching and supporting the learners.

What could have been better? more games

What did I learn from being an observer? that Mr K needs to do more games

Would you like the opportunity to teach children in another area of maths? Why or why not? Yes because i will like to

writing

I think sports is better than music because you're more likely to be calmer which will help their brain which will help you thrive in lerning! Also it will make you overcome lots of your fears like jumping off the Sky Tower in Auckland, or even running the iron. from all of the ideas I have gave them you some of you might think that's a good idea but I know a lot of you still think know so I am still going to tell you more so let's get started. thirdly you will get a lot of Awards on your wall. Just imagine all of your certificates on the wall 1 2 3 skip 97 98 99 100! wow that is a lot. falsely you are going to be extremely fit you will be as fast as Flash and as strong as Hulk. so just remember all of these ideas that I have Gaven you and for sure sports will win.

My Maths Reflection on Learning in Statistics

What I’ve got better at or improved upon.

I improved in using all of the graphs like tree graph Telegraph and bar graph  also I understand how a graph works.

What I still need to work on:

I still need to work on

What I enjoyed and what could be better.

I really enjoyed the Kahoots since they were fun plus playing the number spinner games where you had to guess which number might come up. I would like us to reflect more because I love reflections. I think we could do them every lesson even it’s just speaking.

                          How a snappers life

                      cycle works

How does a snapper's life cycle work? Well it’s easy.  First at the tippity top it starts with the eggs the mum lays the eggs beside a mangrove tree the. The Mom waits  for about 6 months and then they hach after that they stay in the mangrove antill they are older. When they are older they leave the mangroves. There is  about a 50% chance that the snapper gets caught. If that does not happen it will restart.

My goal is detailed sentences.

my measurement reflection.

          Measurement Reflectio

Write a reflection on your learning in Geometry. You will need to look at both tests and also be prepared to talk about the workshops you went to, the mathletics tasks you completed, the videos you watched on the site, or anything else that helped you. You may like to use the headings below but you don’t have to.

My strengths

I'm strong in all the things on the sheets but what i really strive In is naming

Reflection. I am realy strong in everything because Mathletics and the      workshops also help from my mum

And dad and my big sister at home.

Goals

My goal was calculating area and perimeter and I improved in it so i do not have any goals.

What helped me

There are a few things that help me like workshops and Mathletics don't forget my mum and dad and my big sister at home.

Preparing

prepared me with the measurement testing sakay assigns me on Mathletics and my mum and dad and my big sister at home.

What the teachers did well in, and what they need to work on

what the teachers did well for me as they set up tasks on Mathletics for me and they did workshops.

Conclusion

Again the cool tacks on Mathletics and the workshops and my mum and dad and my big sister at

          home.

Dangerous Ways to Get to Schooll

Every day of the year I have to wake up to go to school. You might think it is like a stroll in the park but for me it is absolutely challenging  because I have to cross a tremendously unstable jagged gigantic bridge that could break any moment.

Scary right, I think so! Imagine all the risky things that could happen.  Picture this,  falling off the bridge with crocodiles jumping to bite your bottom, you can’t keep your tightly wrapped hands over the metal bars and  hold on, you could drop all of your belongings in the water and see them disperse everywhere  in the musky crisp bone chilling water losing everything that you require for school.

Just as well I am a speedy swift sprinter that can eftortlessly accelerate across the tremendously unstable jagged gigantic bridge blissfully cheerfully to school.

My Weekly Reflection for Week 8

What I learned this week was:

In Maths was how to order decimals and whole numbers

In Spelling how to spell long “I” sounds

Thinking about our value of responsibility, this is how I’ve been responsible this week.

My next steps are to do the long “I” sound hard in steps

My person who I think has been the most responsible this week is Juan because he has done all of his work this week.
